The Swans of Lir is an Irish legend about a group of young children who are transformed by dark forces into a swans that float in a lake for 900 years.  Finally a bell is tolled, signifying the end of  a lengthy ordeal.  Scored for strings, recorders and percussion, it is the perfect massed item for a large concert or festival.
